They had to manage the filtration and purification to ensure water was safe for drinking and other uses, and they had to maintain that infrastructure. Water supply turned into a commodity by centralized municipal water systems. Users can now access clean water through a faucet and pay for the amount they use.
Similarly, cloud native commoditizes information technology aspects that we had to manage in the past. It can enable the simplification of solution architectures and operational complexity. It can also make securing our applications easier and help us meet regulatory goals. This commoditization aspect can make it easier to manage and refresh our data.
