Active Directory provides the back-end mechanisms to authenticate users and services throughout the nailcorp.com domain. With this authentication determines what rights a user has within the corporate environment.

The Active Directory backend runs on dedicated servers based on Windows 2003 R2 x64 (64-bit) Edition with Service Pack 2 installed. The following hardware specifications are the standard to use in the corporate DC environment:
