OpenNebula 3 Cloud Computing
Now that we have a running OpenNebula infrastructure with a bunch of virtual machines running and a fancy web interface to manage them, we probably want to explore a bit more as to how we can keep an eye on what is going on.
As we already know, the OpenNebula Information Manager (IM) is responsible for host monitoring and resource usage gathering. It is composed by different sensors, each one acquiring different information on the monitored host: CPU usage, available memory, hostname, and so on. Besides physical resource sensors, there are the hypervisor-specific ones that are used to gather information, such as network bandwidth usage and used memory, about the running Virtual Machines (VMs).
