Adding the Offline Bundle to the Auto Deploy server

Once we have the Offline Bundle downloaded on the VMware PowerCLI machine, the next step is to present the Offline Bundle to the Auto Deploy server. This step is performed using the VMware PowerCLI. It is a requirement that the Offline Bundle should be accessible on the machine where PowerCLI is installed.

How to do it…

To present the ESXi 5.1 Offline Bundle to the Auto Deploy server, issue the following command:

Add-EsxSoftwareDepot "C:\AutoDeploy-VIBS\ VMware-ESXi-5.1.0-799733-depot.zip"

How it works…

A successful execution of the command basically informs the Auto Deploy server of the location of the Offline Bundle from where to fetch the Image Profiles.
