IBM Websphere Portal 8: Web Experience Factory and the Cloud
Throughout the previous chapters, we discussed and worked with two types of models — service and user interface. These models perform a very specific role within the service-oriented architecture paradigm supported by WEF. However, these are not the only model types available to WEF developers. WEF developers can implement several other specialized models with different responsibilities within the application.
In this chapter we will look into these models and explain their benefits, when they should be used, as well as how to implement them. So, this chapter will discuss models from an architectural pattern perspective and how they contribute to the construction of effective applications.
The following are the model types we will cover in this chapter:
UI models
Service models
Imported models
Base models
Configurable models
Linked models
