In this chapter, we looked at how we can create and configure a Linux-based virtual machine in Microsoft Azure's cloud. We looked at the different flavors of Linux available and how to create the virtual machine. We also looked at how we can use the command line interface and PuTTY, how we can configure and connect via RDP to work with Linux, and we provided you with a list of useful commands. In the next chapter, we will take a look at how you can manage and monitor your virtual machine.
