This recipe will describe the steps you need to configure Operations Manager to monitor your VMM infrastructure and enable PRO features. PRO allows VMM remediation actions to be performed when alerts are raised within SCOM.

We will see how you can provide monitoring of both your VMM hosts and guests by using Operations Manager and VMM integration. In addition, you can monitor the health and availability of components that make up your VMM infrastructure. These include components such as the management server and database server allowing a complete overview through diagram views within the Operations Manager console.

Taking integration a step further, we will see how to enable PRO allowing you to tie remediation actions based on alerts by raising PRO tips. We can either automatically remediate on the basis of these PRO tips or have an administrator manually approve them.
