In this chapter, we have installed Chef-Solo on our Ubuntu machine, and discussed it in detail covering cookbooks and their structure. We also covered some step-by-step instructions on how to run cookbooks using Chef-Solo. We also had a look into Chef-Solo custom configuration and used JSON to run recipes.

In the next chapter, we will discuss more in detail about cookbooks and will develop them for a complete system environment (Python, Django, Nginx, MySQL, and uWSGI).

Moreover, we will look into the community maintained recipes to install different apps.
