In this recipe, you will learn how to install Docker and get acquainted with the basic commands. You will see how to create and build an image based on Fedora, and how you can run it.
We will need to have access to the Internet in order to download and install Docker and its dependencies.
To install Docker on Fedora, issue the following commands:
$ sudo yum -y remove docker $ sudo yum -y install docker-io
Okay, now that Docker is installed, let's run it:
$ sudo systemctl start docker
If you want to start Docker at boot time, use the following command:
$ sudo systemctl enable docker Created symlink from /etc/systemd/system/multi-user.target.wants/docker.service to /usr/lib/systemd/system/docker.service.
Also, ensure that your user is in the
docker
group, by executing the following:$ groups luigi wheel docker
