Summary

In this chapter, we analyzed all the components of the Citrix XenApp design and reviewed their system requirements. To achieve this, we divided the Citrix infrastructure into four distinct layers: control, resource, hardware, and access. The layered approach allowed us to examine the role of each component from both the administration and end user perspective. We also discussed the supported XenApp database configurations and HA solutions for SQL in an enterprise environment.

At this point, you can finally sit back and relax because the theoretical part of this book is over! In Chapter 4, Installing and Configuring Citrix XenApp®, we officially launch our implementation of Citrix XenApp, which is probably what you've been waiting for all afternoon! Hopefully, with the knowledge acquired thus far, you are one step closer to not only installing, but also architecting your own environment.
