Summary

In this chapter, you installed and configured your first StoreFront deployment. This highly available setup is the foundation of the access layer in the Citrix XenApp infrastructure, and can readily be used to test internal access to user stores via Receiver for Web. You also used SSL certificates in IIS to secure communications to the two servers and tested the validity of the certificates by connecting to the StoreFront HTTPS URL from a client computer.

In the next chapter, we will introduce NetScaler Gateway (formerly known as Access Gateway)—a powerful frontend solution by Citrix that, in external networks, enables secure access for users to applications and desktops hosted by XenApp. See you in a bit!
