In this chapter, we built our virtual desktop machine images that will act as our gold image or parent image, installed the operating system, optimized it to run as a Horizon View virtual desktop machine, and then prepared it and made it ready to be delivered to the end users. In total, we built three virtual desktop parent images.

In the next chapter, we will configure the View Administrator console and create our desktop pools and make them ready for our end users to connect and start using the virtual desktop machines that we just built.
