End Point Operations Solution Packs


So far, we have looked at the monitoring of just an operating system—in the preceding examples, the Windows operating system.

The End Point Operations framework has been built to monitor applications as well as operating systems.

When you deploy End Point Operations agents, unlike vRealize Hyperic, the agents do not automatically understand and manage every supported application. The core agent is now designed only to initially understand the most common end points, such as the Microsoft Windows operating system.

As described in Chapter 7, vRealize Operations Manager Solutions, a lot of the additional End Point Operations content is provided via Solution Packs in VMware Solution Exchange. You can expect an ever-increasing range of supported applications to be made available in Solutions Exchange.
