Installing Management Packs


Installing Management Packs is a very straightforward exercise. This makes it very easy for you to extend your vRealize Operations solution to manage other parts of your environment such as your storage arrays, applications, or networking technologies, such as VMware NSX.

Let's look at how you install a Management Pack. We will use the Management Pack for NSX for vSphere 2.0 as our example. This is very typical of the Management Packs created by VMware.

Downloading the Management Pack code and documentation

The first thing to do is to browse to VMware's Solution Exchange, as described earlier, to locate the Management Pack you want to install. Browse through the Management Packs to locate the one you are interested in, or alternatively, use the Search functionality.

Each Management Pack has a short description as can be seen in the following screenshot:
