Citrix Provisioning Services™


In this chapter, we will be working on the latest version of the Citrix Provisioning Services, which is 7.6, and before we get into the details, let's try to understand what Citrix Provisioning Services is.

Provisioning Service is one of the best solution in the market when it comes to vDisk streaming to virtual or physical machine. This solution was developed by a company called Ardence, which was later acquired by Citrix and now it is known as the Citrix Provisioning Services. With this technology, you can create virtual disks and then stream those to virtual or physical machines via a network.

It eliminates the need for single virtual or physical machine management and all the management tasks, such as patching and updating the installed software, can be done on the single vDisk and then it can be streamed back to virtual or physical machine.
