Enabling Hyper-V virtual machines protection to Azure with Azure Site Recovery and Microsoft Azure Backup Server


Azure Site Recovery (ASR) assists in deploying a strong business continuity and disaster recovery solution, which protects your on-premises physical servers and virtual machines, by orchestrating and automating replication and failover to Azure or between data centers.

ASR allows you to build a DR solution for on-premises data center (Physical servers and/or VMs) to Azure or to secondary data center without replicating your data to Azure, in which Azure will orchestrate and automate the failover.

ASR is natively integrated into Azure, enabling customers to manage both their DR solution and other Azure services, as well as providing hybrid disaster recovery capabilities across multiple platforms. It is also an integral part of Microsoft's hybrid-cloud management offering with Operations Management Suite (OMS).
