A process template is what controls about 90 percent of how your team project works in TFS. If you are spinning up a lot of Team Projects, it's a good idea to put more effort into your process template to make sure there is as little administration required as possible after you have created the team project to get things such as permissions, queries, iteration, and area paths set up.
