Source Configuration Management

Source Configuration Management and Version Control Management refer to the process of managing and controlling access and changes to Source Code. It involves storing source code and configurations within a repository with restrictive access, allowing authorized users to create, modify, update, and delete the source code and configurations in a controlled manner, and maintain the history of all such changes. It provides appropriate automation for code conflict resolution, parallel development paths, comparison of files, and reverting to previous specific versions. It records all changes to source code in its history logs over a period of time. Source Configuration Management and Version Control System helps in eliminating and maintaining multiple copies of the same files by developers and make them more productive by providing tools to identify their changes over a period of time and increase collaboration.
