Preface

Creating the applications and EPGs

We will create one application network profile called ACME-AP and two EPGs: one for Finance and one for Marketing.

How to do it...

  1. Like the tenant creation, we need to enter the command application followed by the name of the application.
  2. We then create the EPGs, add them to the bridge domains, and make them members of the VMWare domain:
      apic1(config-tenant)# application ACME-AP
      apic1(config-tenant-app)# epg Finance
      apic1(config-tenant-app-epg)# bridge-domain member Finance-BD
      apic1(config-tenant-app-epg)#
      vmware-domain member ACI-vSwitch push on-demand
      apic1(config-tenant-app-epg-domain)# exit
      apic1(config-tenant-app-epg)# exit
      apic1(config-tenant-app)#
      apic1(config-tenant-app)# epg Marketing
      apic1(config-tenant-app-epg)# bridge-domain member Marketing-BD
      apic1(config-tenant-app-epg)#
      vmware-domain member ACI-vSwitch push on-demand
      apic1(config-tenant-app-epg-domain)# exit
  ...
