The Google Translation API is a machine translation service which uses a state-of-the-art neural machine translator. The service can be invoked using RESTful API calls from various programming languages. With a given text, we can invoke the API to identify the source language and we can translate to a target language of our choice. Like any other GCP service, this API is highly scalable and comes with a simple pricing model.
The following are the initial setup verification steps for the creation of the network before the recipe can be executed:
- Create or select a GCP project
- Enable billing and enable the default APIs (some APIs like BigQuery, storage, monitoring, and a few others are enabled automatically)
- Enable the Google Cloud Translation API for your project
