Using the Cacti CLI


Let's look at how you can use the Cacti CLI to manage user permissions and some basic administrative tasks.

Adding permissions

When copying a user, the user permissions of the original user are copied to the new user. Let's assume that you have set your original user to deny access by default for trees, devices, and graphs. Now if you want to add further permissions to the new user, you can use a special script from the Cacti CLI.

Time for action - adding permissions to a user

Let's look how this permission script works:

  1. Log on to your Cacti system.
  2. Change to the Cacti CLI directory:
cd /var/www/html/cacti/cli
  1. Execute the following command:
php add_perms.php
