Connection and virtual interfaces are the key components of AWS Direct Connect. We need to create a connection in an AWS Direct Connect location. Why do we need to create a connection? Because it is used to establish a network connection between on-premises and AWS.
At the time of writing, AWS Direct Connect does not provide a Service Level Agreement (SLA).
There are three ways to establish an AWS Direct Connect connection:
- By using an AWS Direct Connect location
- A member of the AWS Partner Network or a network carrier
- A hosted connection provided by a member of APN

There are two options available in AWS Direct Connect for port speeds:
- 1 Gbps: 1000BASE-LX (1310nm) over single-mode fiber
- 10 Gbps: 10GBASE...
