Cloud migration

We have seen how cloud computing offers several advantages over the traditional local data center approach. Due to this, more and more companies are eager to join the cloud revolution and leverage the benefits that it offers.

Cloud migration is a strategy to migrate the existing infrastructure to the cloud. For example, an organization may decide to migrate their production VM to the AWS cloud.

Cloud migration decisions can be based on several factors. Some of the common reasons why organizations choose to migrate their data centers to the cloud are as follows:

  • Data center lease expiration: Many organizations lease their data center from vendors. When the lease is due to expire, it is wise to migrate the data center to the cloud.
  • Hardware upgrade and its costs: A growing organization may need to upgrade their hardware from time to time, so as to accommodate the business requirements. Instead of spending large funds on purchasing new hardware, organizations prefer to migrate...
