Summary

This chapter was very detailed. I must say that I had a lot of fun working on it. We covered the filesystem structure. You learned how to navigate the filesystem using the cd command. Then we looked at how to identify the working directory. After that, we covered the method for viewing the contents of a directory. Adding to that, we exposed hidden files and directories within directories that weren't displayed by default.

Next, we covered how to create a file in the shell. Furthermore, we looked at the various permissions for a file and how to change these permissions. Following this, we moved on to directories inside a Linux environment. The various methods to create, move, rename, and remove a directory were explored.
