Configuring extensions' voicemail


This utility is for leaving a voicemail message to an extension or group of extensions that have activated and configured the voicemail feature. We will also cover the VmX Locater feature and we will configure the voicemail blasting module.

How to do it…

  1. To enable and configure the voicemail feature to an extension, we must click on the Extensions module and select the extension we want to activate its voicemail.

  2. Scroll the page down until we find the Voice & Directory section.

  3. In this section, we enable the voicemail by changing the option Status from Disabled to Enabled.

  4. Then, for security reasons, we must assign a password for the voicemail. This password will be asked whenever we want to check our messages.

  5. If we want, we can add an e-mail account to which all messages could be sent as an audio attachment.

  6. The Play CID option displays the caller's ID and the date and time the message was left. We enable it by selecting yes.
