Exporting reporting data into Excel 2013


Once the reporting data has been uploaded to the server, it is stored in a 'staging table' until a SQL Server Agent job dumps the data into the live tables. With this data stored in the SQL server, it is possible to view it through a variety of means, including custom designed websites and in Microsoft Office Excel.

Getting ready

To complete these steps, you will need to complete the first two recipes of this chapter ensuring that the user Maddy Alans has been added to the App-V Reporting Users security group.

How to do it...

The following list shows you the high-level steps involved in this recipe and the tasks required to complete the recipe (all of the actions in this recipe will take place on the server APPV1 and on a Windows 8.1 client running Office 2013):
