Choosing the automation tool

At first sight, you may wonder which automation tool is the most useful for our OpenStack production day. We have already chosen Git and Jenkins to handle our continuous integration and testing. It is time to choose the right tool for automation.

It might be difficult to select the right tool. Most likely, you'll have to choose between several of them. Covering all the existing IT automation tools could fill an entire book or even books. Therefore, giving succinct hints on different tools might be helpful in order to distinguish the best outfit for certain particular setups. Of course, we are still talking about large infrastructures, a lot of networking, and distributed services.

As Ansible becomes a very mature tool and well integrated within the cloud automation world, we will use it for the next deployment phase.
