Configuring and analyzing Event Viewer logs


The Event Viewer, as the name suggests, is a Microsoft Management Console (MMC) snap-in that enables IT professionals to view events in Windows 10. In addition, it servers as handy troubleshooting tool because it provides detailed information about what is going on in your Windows 10 computer. It should be acknowledged that the Event Viewer is not a new feature in Windows 10, but a legacy utility inherited from earlier versions of Windows. As such, due to its importance in maintaining your computer system, it is recommended that each user knows about the Event Viewer. The Windows Event log service which is responsible for the Event Viewer, starts automatically when Windows 10 starts.

There are five types of events that you can monitor with Event Viewer.
