This chapter explains advanced management tools, such as Windows Services, Windows Registry, the Microsoft Management Console (MMC), and Task Scheduler. The chapter is organized into two parts. The first part explains the importance of services and registry of Windows 10. Topics such as understanding Windows Services and Windows Registry, and how to manage both the Services and Registry in Windows 10, are discussed. As far as the second part is concerned, it covers the MMC and Task Scheduler. Examples of how to access and add a snap-in, respectively creating a basic task, are presented. Each topic is accompanied by step-by-step instructions driven by targeted, easy-to-understand graphics. The chapter concludes with chapter labs on configuring the automation of management tasks using Windows PowerShell and converting Group Policy Objects to MDM policies using the MDM Migration Analysis tool.
