Configuring an assessment template

The assessment template consists of a number of configurable options that define how an assessment will be run against your EC2 instances that you just defined as targets. To configure it, follow these steps:

  1. Remain within the Amazon Inspector console and select Assessment Template on the left-hand side.
  2. Click the blue Create button and the following configurable page will appear:

  1. Similar to the assessment targets, you now have a number of configurable parameters to define your assessment, starting with a name for the assessment template. Ensure it is something meaningful that will identify its use.
  2. You must then select a target name using the drop-down list. Now this will list all of your assessment targets that you have created in Amazon Inspector. Select the appropriate assessment target. In this example, I have a single assessment target that I created in the previous demo called Stu_EC2_Instance:
