Summary

In this chapter, we learned at a high level how AWS classifies its data centers. We touched upon the layout of the AWS infrastructure.

We then pivoted to understand how we can use this infrastructure to implement a digital transformation program and how to migrate to the cloud. We learned that not all cloud migration programs are created equal and that some companies use their migration to the cloud to implement further change in their organization.

Since processes are going to have to be retested anyway, why not take advantage of this change and implement ways to improve the company's processes and business workflows?

We also covered the drivers for digital transformation and visited some examples of successful digital transformation. Along with this, we saw some useful tips to ensure the success of your digital transformation, as well as some pitfalls that should be avoided so that your transformation does not fail.

In the next chapter, we begin to learn...
