Summary

In this chapter, we learned about the transformation of product development culture and practices over the past two decades, including agile development, Lean Startup, and design thinking, and we saw why those new ways of working are important to achieving a successful digital transformation. We learned about the role of the CDO, how the CDO and their team have developed in the private and public sectors, and the importance of engaging all levels of an organization in the transformation. Finally, we learned about the soft skills necessary to ensure a strong digital transformation and strategies for developing new technical, leadership, and collaboration skills in an organization.
