Transferring user data

In this section, we will look at options to transfer data from one user to another any time and also during user deletion. We will also have a peek at one of the lesser-known services – Google Takeout. We will be covering Google Takeout from both an administrator and a user's perspective.

First, we will look at transferring ownership of Google Drive contents between users.

Transferring Google Drive content

Contents in Google Drive from a user can be transferred anytime, not necessarily only during the deletion of users. We will swiftly explore those two scenarios in the next two subsections.

Transferring data any time

Administrators can transfer ownership of a user's file stored in Google Drive, including files in shared drives. The only caveat is that the target user must have enough storage to receive all the files from the user.
