Chapter 6: Working with the Common Data Service
Common Data Service (CDS) or dataverse is generally accepted and often used across different systems and manufacturers to communicate directly to the system, using dynamic, ever-changing data. It is a suite of connections that allows direct access to your data source, rather than relying on an offline, saved file as was often the case with earlier CSV and XML flat files used to move data from one system to another.
In this chapter, we're going to cover the following main topics:
- Retrieving a record using Get record
- Retrieving a series of records using List records and ForEach
- Updating a record and series of records with ForEach
- Considering how and when to use logical and physical field naming
