Retrieving a record using the Get record action

We are going to use our CRM alongside our previously built logic app to return details from a contact record. I have already looked up a test contact record from the CRM. We are going to continue with the earlier exercise by adding data from our CRM.

Exercise

Follow these steps to retrieve a record using the Get record action:

  1. On your CRM, navigate to your test account and record the contact ID (GUID).
  2. Update your Postman call, replacing the name of the field with ContactID and the data with your GUID, as follows:
    {"ContactID":"0d4685c5-ac04-eb11-a813-000d3a86ba0b"}
  3. In your logic app, on the trigger, press Use sample payload to generate schema and paste your new message into the generator.

    Notice that only the name of the field has changed:

    {
        "type": "object",
        "properties": {
          ...
