Overview of this book

The AWS Certified Database – Specialty certification is one of the most challenging AWS certifications. It validates your comprehensive understanding of databases, including the concepts of design, migration, deployment, access, maintenance, automation, monitoring, security, and troubleshooting. With this guide, you'll understand how to use various AWS databases, such as Aurora Serverless and Global Database, and even services such as Redshift and Neptune. You’ll start with an introduction to the AWS databases, and then delve into workload-specific database design. As you advance through the chapters, you'll learn about migrating and deploying the databases, along with database security techniques such as encryption, auditing, and access controls. This AWS book will also cover monitoring, troubleshooting, and disaster recovery techniques, before testing all the knowledge you've gained throughout the book with the help of mock tests. By the end of this book, you'll have covered everything you need to pass the DBS-C01 AWS certification exam and have a handy, on-the-job desk reference guide.

Chapter 16: Exam Practice

This chapter contains a practice exam with 60 questions. Some of these questions have been asked before and some have not. These are very close to the feel and style of the Amazon Web Services (AWS) exam. Remember the tips in Chapter 1, AWS Certified Database – Specialty Exam Overview—remove obviously wrong answers first and then re-read the question to see if there are clues to help work out the right answer. You may not know the right answer to each question, but you should be able to work out the wrong answers and obtain the correct answer in that way. It is likely when you come to take the AWS exam that you will not know every answer as the subject is very broad, but being able to remove clearly wrong answers will greatly improve your chances of being able to work out the correct answer. If you wish to time your exam attempt, then allocate 170 minutes to complete this.

The 60 questions are presented here:
