Overview of this book

Building on The DevOps 2.3 Toolkit: Kubernetes, Viktor Farcic brings his latest exploration of the Docker technology as he records his journey to continuously deploying applications with Jenkins into a Kubernetes cluster. The DevOps 2.4 Toolkit: Continuously Deploying Applications with Jenkins to a Kubernetes Cluster is the latest book in Viktor Farcic’s series that helps you build a full DevOps Toolkit. This book guides readers through the process of building, testing, and deploying applications through fully automated pipelines. Within this book, Viktor will cover a wide-range of emerging topics, including an exploration of continuous delivery and deployment in Kubernetes using Jenkins. It also shows readers how to perform continuous integration inside these clusters, and discusses the distribution of Kubernetes applications, as well as installing and setting up Jenkins. Now It Is Your Turn

Defining the whole production environment

All the chapters until this one followed the same pattern. We'd learn about a new tool and, from there on, we'd streamline its installation through Gists in all subsequent chapters. As an example, we introduced ChartMuseum a few chapters ago, we learned how to install it, and, from there on, there was no point reiterating the same set of steps in the chapters that followed. Instead, we had the installation steps in Gists. Knowing that, you might be wondering why we did not follow the same pattern now. Why was ChartMuseum excluded from the Gists we're using in this chapter? Why isn't Jenkins there as well? Are we going to install ChartMuseum and Jenkins with a different configuration? We're not. Both will have the same configuration, but they will be installed in a slightly different way.

We already saw the benefits...
