Creating DLP policies and assigning them to Office 365 locations

Now that you understand the core components that make up a DLP policy and that enabling your policies in test mode is a good way to begin, let's go ahead and create an actual DLP policy using a template and assign it to the chosen Office 365 locations. To do this, we need to complete the following steps:

  1. Log into the Microsoft 365 Security and Compliance Center, which can be accessed by administrators at https://protection.office.com, and navigate to Data loss prevention | Policy, as shown in the following screenshot:

  2. Click on Create a policy, as shown in the following screenshot:

  3. For this example, we will configure a Financial policy from a template for a business in the United Kingdom. Choose Financial and select United Kingdom, as shown in the following screenshot:
