After we configure all the hosts to join the same monitoring cluster (NebulaPhy), we may want to set up a new cluster for all the VMs running on our hosts.
We should simply install the package Ganglia-monitor, as we did for the hosts:
$ sudo apt-get install ganglia-monitor
We need to change the cluster definition in /etc/ganglia/gmond.conf
, providing a different cluster name as follows:
cluster { name = "NebulaVirt" owner = "LiberSoft" latlong = "unspecified" url = "http://libersoft.eu" }
The communication port needs to be changed as well, so that it does not conflict with the already existing NebulaPhy cluster communication:
udp_send_channel { mcast_join = 239.2.11.71 port = 8650 ttl = 1 } udp_recv_channel { mcast_join = 239.2.11.71 port = 8650 bind = 239.2.11.71 } tcp_accept_channel { port = 8650 }
Do not forget to restart the service:
$ sudo /etc/init.d/ganglia-monitor restart
Now tell the gmetad on the frontend to poll...
