Chapter 8. Using the CONNECT Storage Engine
If you are working in the Business Intelligence domain, or have to do some Business Intelligence tasks, you may find most of the tasks tedious. The CONNECT engine is here to solve this problem, and allows you to connect external data sources to MariaDB. You will also be able to make some data transformations directly with the CONNECT engine, without having to write complex queries.
This chapter will also tell you more about the community, its members and its goal, and where to find help or more information now that you have acquired a lot of knowledge about MariaDB.
In this chapter, we will cover the following topics:
Understanding the CONNECT storage engine
Accessing CSV files
Accessing XML and HTML files
The XCOL table type
The OCCUR table type
The PIVOT table type
MariaDB community
MariaDB resources
Included storage engines
