Building a sales dashboard in Tableau

Next to each new worksheet is a tab to create a new dashboard. Let's go ahead and select a new dashboard. But before we connect our worksheets to the dashboard, we want to make the dashboard look a little more user-friendly.

Beautifying the dashboard

On the left-hand side of the dashboard screen, there is a menu that can be used to set the canvas size to Automatic, which immediately resets the dashboard to fit any screen it is displayed on:

After changing the canvas size, we can next add a title by checking Show dashboard title and assigning the AdventureWorks Sales Dashboard title. If we right-click on the title and select Format Title..., we have the ability to center the title header, as seen in the following screenshot:

We can't have a dashboard without a company logo. Fortunately, someone has already created one online for us to use with the AdventureWorks company. We can download that logo from the following website:
