Summary


In this chapter, we discussed the most important aspect of Informatica PowerCenter tool and most of the widely used transformations. Other transformations that have been intentionally not added in this chapter are very rarely used transformations. We talked about the functionalities of various transformations. You learned the usage of ports and expression editor in various transformations. We discussed the classification of the transformations, that is Active/Passive and Connected/Unconnected. You learned about the different types of caches and tracing levels available.

In the next chapter, we will discuss the forth client screen, Repository Manager. We saw the usage of other screens. We will see how the Repository Manager screen is used for deploying the code across various environments in Informatica.
