Why isn't all data structured to begin with?

Data is generated from everywhere at all times within computer systems. They power our applications and reports and help us make sense of the world and our decisions that impact it. Data that's produced from an application that manages financial portfolios tells us how much risk the instruments in the portfolio are at. Websites can generate click data to tell a story, such as how customer's behavior changes when an update is made to a website. Retail businesses produce sales transactions and marketing data to determine how sales are affected by marketing campaigns.
