So far in the previous chapters we have seen how to implement GoldenGate in various configurations to replicate data. The job of the person responsible for managing GoldenGate environments does not end here. Once the system goes live like any other IT infrastructure component, GoldenGate requires maintenance. This includes applying newly released patches, and upgrading to newer GoldenGate versions. In this chapter, we will cover how to upgrade GoldenGate environments to newer versions.
