Setting up Oracle GoldenGate Monitor Agents


In this recipe, you will learn how to set up Oracle GoldenGate Monitor Agents and configure them to communicate to the Monitor server.

Getting ready

For this recipe, we will refer to the GoldenGate setup done in the Setting up a simple GoldenGate replication configuration between two single node databases recipe in Chapter 2, Setting up GoldenGate Replication. We will set up GoldenGate monitoring for the source and target GoldenGate instance of this setup. For the GoldenGate Monitor server setup, we will refer to the set up performed in the previous recipe.

How to do it…

The steps to configure GoldenGate Monitor Agents are as follows:

  1. Log in to the prim1-ol6-112 source server as a ggate user.

  2. Edit the config.properties file as follows:

    cd $GG_HOME/cfg
    vi config.properties
    
    jagent.host = prim1-ol6-112
    jagent.jmx.port = 5555
    interval.regular = 60
    interval.quick = 30
    monitor.host = mgmt1-ol6
    monitor.jmx.port = 5502
    monitor.jmx.username = jmxUser
    agent.type...
