Managing drawings


Entering the drawings into the system is only half the battle. The reason we enter them is to manage them and have the capability to understand each drawing's current revision and distribution at the click of a button. There are two main aspects of the Drawing module: revisions of the drawings and distribution of the drawings.

Revising drawings

A project wants all parties involved to be working from the same instruction set. Drawings are changed regularly as the job progresses, and there will be conflicts and items that need clarity. Revisions to drawings can be dramatic changes or just simple changes. If certain contractors are working from an old set of drawings, their information is outdated and they could be spending valuable time and money in the wrong place. It then can become a blame game, whether they were notified of the revision and when that notification was made.
