Understand that finding, configuring, implementing, testing, and training an application of this magnitude is not a small project. Be prepared for many meetings with lengthy discussions to understand exactly what the business needs. It is best to get outside help in making these decisions as outsiders typically see things that insiders do not. They typically don't care about the people whose answer is, "that is always the way we have done it." An outsider has no inside bias and many times can help to get past the corporate politics and provide meaningful analysis of your organization and its needs.
