Time for action – using Report Manager


Report Manager is the second web application in Reporting Services that provides an administration panel for reports, folder hierarchy of reports, and data sources. Administration tasks such as security configurations, changing data sources, and adding or removing subscription to reports can be performed with this tool. In this example, we will have a very quick look at this tool:

  1. Find the Report Manager URL from the Reporting Services Configuration Manager window and browse to its URL (the default URL for Report Manager is http://<server name>/reports).

  2. In Report Manager, go to the Chapter 09 SSRS folder. Hover on the Customers report and then click on the arrow on the right-hand side of the report icon, as shown in the following screenshot:

  3. In the pop-up menu, click on Manage.

  4. In the Manage Report page, you will see the administration panel on the left-hand side. You can view/change the data source for this report. You can also view/change the subscription...
