To create a particle system from scratch, follow these steps:
- Start a new Unity 3D project.
- Let's create a floor and wall from scaled 3D Cubes to create a location where we can view our particle system.
- Create a 3D Cube GameObject named Cube-wall. In the Inspector window, set its Position to (1, 0, 3) and its Scale to (20, 20, 1).
- Create a second 3D Cube GameObject named Cube-floor. In the Inspector window, set its Position to (0, -1, 0) and its Scale to (20, 1, 20).
- Create a new Material asset file in the Project window named m_grey. Set the Albedo property of this Material to a mid-gray color (halfway between white and black). Now, drag the m_grey asset file from the Project window onto Cube-wall in the Hierarchy window. The wall should now be gray.
- Often, the visual effect of a particle system comes from a GameObject, so let's create a 3D Sphere at a Position of (0, 0, 0) so that it appears...
