Chapter 6: Using Advanced Features and Customizing the Sculpting Brushes

One key factor in creating high-quality sculptures is practice with, and mastery of, the sculpting brushes. The latest version of Blender comes with many excellent brushes that each have a place in the sculpting process. We had a chance to try many of the basic brushes in Chapter 3, Sculpting a Simple Character Head with Basic Brushes, but we can also customize our brushes to make them behave exactly the way we like. In this chapter, we'll learn about advanced brush features that will give us full control over the behavior of our brushes.

We'll start by learning about some simple adjustments that we can make to our brushes, such as custom falloff and custom stroke settings. Once we understand these features, we'll expand our knowledge with one of the most important and impactful ways to customize our brushes: Alphas.
